Go to the Carnival

The Sao Paulo annual carnival is held during the month of February or March. You can witness the parade from a huge grand-stand known as Anhembi Sambadrome. The sambadrome is easy to reach as it is located near the Teite Metro Station. There is a parade, plenty of music, numerous Samba dancers and just about everything that great street party needs.

Ibirapuera Park

Sao Paulo’s Ibirapuera Park is the most popular place to relax in the city. You can go jogging, walking or even cycling in this vast, one and a half million square meter park. During certain times of the year, you may also see musicians performing or artists exhibiting their art here, at the Ibirapuera Park. With many beautiful lakes, jogging trails and sports complexes, the Ibirapuera Park is visited by over 150 thousand people during weekends.

Viewing points

You can witness Sao Paulo’s stunning skyline from viewing points atop Paulista Avenue’s tallest buildings. The Banespa Tower and Sao Paulo Jockey Club are two such buildings that offer tourists an opportunity to watch the breathtaking panorama from their highest floors. Dusk usually provides the best views.

Family Excursion options

Playcenter and Wet n’ Wild Sao Paulo are two very popular theme parks in Sao Paulo. Entry to these theme parks cost in the US$ 42 to US$ 65 range. Apart from theme parks, you could also take you family to the Sao Paulo Zoo. You can reach the zoo from Jabaquara Metro station by shuttle bus. Also, there is a beautiful aquarium in Ipiranga that you can visit for just US$ 25.
